A birthday is often the most anticipated and joyful day in a child’s year, so the PIE Foundation made it part of its mission to ensure that EVERY Round Rock ISD is able to have a special day.
Through the Happy Birthday Bag Program, birthdays in a bag are given to low-income and foster care students in Round Rock ISD, giving them a chance to celebrate their special day without worrying about the cost to their families.
Each bag is filled with a gift, mug cake, and party supplies, which are then delivered to campus counselors. The bags are then discreetly placed in the students’ backpack on their birthday. The Foundation relies on monetary and in-kind donations to purchase the items that go into the bags. We also count on local Central Texas Businesses to volunteer to put the bags together on a monthly basis.
